Name of Student

Dan French is a 2X Emmy-nominated comedy writer, standup comedian, speaker, and teacher, with a Communications Ph.D. in Rhetoric.

Dan has composed comedy for Dennis Miller, George Lopez, Wanda Sykes, and David Letterman, as well as Comedy Central Specials and The Best Damn Sports Show Period, and wrote the material that garnered the win for a contestant on Last Comic Standing.

Having performed over 3,000 standup shows at comedy clubs across the U.S. & Canada, Dan’s lectured at high profile organizations such as IBM, Nextel, Samsung, St. David’s Medical Center, Duke University, and the U.S. Naval War College. He’s taught at the University of Texas at Austin, California State University at Fullerton, and the University of Louisville, among other places.

Now Dan also mentors comedy writers, meaning that the world of comedy is getting even funnier, and we in Austin get to jump on that bandwagon.

These days Dan divides his time between Austin TX & LA California, so we are fortunate that he has offered us this opportunity to learn from him and pick his brain while he’s in town this month!
