We are honored & thrilled to have the opportunity to network outside our usual meetup group, especially with such great groups as Reel Women (http://reelwomen.org/) and NALIP (http://www.nalip.org/). If you are unfamiliar with these local film groups, please look them up. If Austin wants to keep its 3rd coast title, we must work together as one professional, well-connected group of creatives. And as you know, networking is the key to a successful career in the media industry.
Don't forget your bizcards!

To make a connection between writers who have good scripts ready for production and directors and producers who need good writers. For submission to the DVXUser, com's Monsterfest Film Competition.
If you are a director or producer looking for a script to produce, you don’t want to miss this Monday. First, we’ll attend to our regular meeting agenda, covering industry news, member projects and new people introductions, although it won’t last long. Then the winning writers of the Screenwriters of Austin Monsterfest Script Competition will present a short pitch of their story for the group. After all scripts have been introduced, the meeting will break and interested directors and producers will have an opportunity to meet the writers and discuss potential collaboration. Our goal is to match each writer with a director and producer for their winning script. Completed films will be submitted to DVXUser.com’s Monsterfest Film Competition by the deadline on October 31, 2009.
Even if you’re not a director or producer, we invite you to join us for a wonderful evening of great opportunity.
The fine folks at Patsy’s Cowgirl Cafe do a lot to support the arts, including host us for free. So, please support our new host location by ordering some delicious food or a frosty beverage from their full bar and menu. And don’t forget to tip your server. Thank you!
