Live weapons are NEVER acceptable to use on a set. In certain occasions, blanks can be used, but live ammo should NEVER be on set with weapons. People are stupid. Stupid things happen to stupid people. Stupid things even happen to smart people. So don’t be stupid and let live ammo on your set. Just say no!
