Liam Mathison Farmer (he|him|his|mr.|sir) may have been raised in Chicago, but he got to Austin as fast as he could in the mid-2000’s. Taking a cue from what Kevin Smith did with “Chasing Amy,” Liam wrote his first screenplay, “Crosswater,” in 2023 to help him process a traumatic ordeal and the complex PTSD it left him with. Shocked when it advanced to the quarterfinals of the Academy Nicholl Fellowship competition, he realized he’d better take this writing thing seriously and proceeded to buckle down and work on his craft. Today, after writing three more features, three shorts, and a whole mess o’ treatments, Liam now considers himself a screenwriting sophomore—from the Greek for “smart moron.” He knows how little he really knows, and he wants to learn from you.
