The Austin Film Meet Member Screening & Awards is a juried, members-only showcase celebrating the strongest work created within the Austin Film Meet community. This event recognizes excellence in storytelling, performance, and craft while maintaining our community’s supportive, collaborative spirit. Due to time constraints, not all submissions will be selected for screening.

🎟️ Eligibility

  • Submission open only to active Austin Film Meet members

  • Free submission for members

  • Must be an active member at:

    • Time of submission and

    • Time of screening

  • Multiple submissions are allowed, but please submit a separate submission form for each project

🎥 Eligible Works

  • Narrative short films

  • Documentary short films

  • Experimental films

  • Proof-of-concept shorts

  • Standalone scenes or excerpts (from larger projects)

Runtime guidelines:

  • Preferred: 3–12 minutes

  • Maximum runtime: 15 minutes
    (Excerpts may be programmed at the discretion of the selection committee.)

  • Submission via AFM submission form below

  • Required materials:

    • Film link (YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive)

    • Runtime

    • Short synopsis (50–100 words)

    • Primary creator(s) credit

    • Project Poster

🎞️ Selection Process

  • Films are juried and curated by an AFM selection committee

  • Selection criteria may include:

    • Storytelling strength

    • Craft & execution

    • Originality

    • Audience engagement potential

  • Selection does not imply ranking unless an award is given

  • Accepted projects will be notified closer to date of screening
