Reading scripts will make you a better writer! We are certain someone has proved it somewhere. For writers, submitting scripts for feedback at this event will help you get a wide range of opinions from a lot of different people. Take it all in stride, but remember that repeating patterns can help you spot areas needing improvement.
WHO:
Screenwriters, and writers for multimedia projects. This event is open to anyone with an interest in writing for the motion arts including film, television, web or commercial. Readers from any field are able to attend as well.
HOW MUCH:
Readers (members & non-members) are always welcome and it is FREE. The benefits of sharing a script is intended for Austin Film Meet Members. However, we invite you to come try it once for free. If you like it, please support our organization by joining membership.

HOW IT WORKS:
Bring 2-4 printed copies of your script. At the beginning of the event, scripts are laid out for readers to browse through and select a script to read. Readers are asked to read at least 10-20 pages of each script, and complete a short list of questions to help generate constructive feedback that writers can use to improve their scripts. Scripts in all stages and formats are welcome.
When you arrive sign-in, turn in your scripts, you will be given a script to read and a critique form to help guide your feedback. Some writers prefer you not to write on the script at all, some like you to write on the script instead of the worksheet, others enjoy both. Please ask the writer what they prefer.
When finished reading please turn in the script & feedback form for another script. We usually stop fifteen-thirty minutes before the end of the event in order to give forms and scripts back to the writers, and hang around to discuss the scripts in more detail.
Readers without scripts are also welcome as we always need readers and a lot can be learned from reading.
Hope you can join us!
