Filmmakers, Historians coming together to Discuss Artistic Responses to the tragedy and disaster of the Texas Wildfires.
To host a forum bringing together artists/filmmakers/scholars to discuss their work in the context of archive and research to the Texas wildfires.
Provide work space to displaced artists cross mediums interested in archival documentation.
Artists who are producing their own archives of the wildfires and who are engaging deeply in visual and written research.
To Initiate opportunities for new creative relationships, networking possibilities and endeavors.
The discussion and film screenings held at the Blue Theatre 10am on Sunday, October 2, 2011, is a companion to the opening of an exhibition of displaced visual and conceptual artists display throughout October in the Art Gallery Space. Both the discussion and the exhibit opening are free and open to the public.
This event is presented by the Blue and supported by Austin Film Meet.
