The aesthetics and history of widescreen cinema
An in-depth look at the shape of the cinema screen; covering the reasons why widescreen exists, the affects widescreen can instill in an audience, and compositional strategies for an effective use of the widescreen format. The presentation will also include an open discussion on the future of widescreen in a world where you can watch movies on a smartphone.
