WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
All experience levels welcome.
Advanced practical application of the business and creative skills used to develop, produce and distribute independent feature films for the marketplace from Austin writer/director, Kat Candler (Hellion, Sundance 2014, IFC Films, Black Metal, Sundance 2013, Jumping Off Bridges, SXSW 2006).
The 2-day lecture based workshop will focus on screenwriting, developing/packaging, pre-production, production, festivals, marketing and distribution.

KAT CANDLER BIO:
Kat Candler’s award winning short and feature films Hellion, Black Metal and Jumping Off Bridges have screened at Sundance, SXSW, Los Angeles Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival and more. Her latest feature film, Hellion starring Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis, premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Hellion was a Sundance Creative Producing Lab participant and San Francisco Film Society/Kenneth Rainin Foundation Grant recipient. Hellion was released in theaters through IFC Films. Candler was a recipient of the San Francisco Film Society/Kenneth Rainin Foundation Grant for her upcoming feature Untitled Metal Project. Candler is a 2014 Sundance Women’s Initiative Fellow.
