Registration is now open for “Acting and Scene Work,” a six-week session beginning Jan. 22 in Ennis.

When: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 22 to Feb. 26, 2015

Where: Theatre Rocks!, 505 NW Main St., Ennis, Texas

Who: Open to students ages 12 to 18

Cost: $75 per student, $70 per additional sibling

What: Personalized instruction in character development, audition skills, and scene work. The classes also will touch on film acting.   The classes will be taught by Noelle Carmen, the artistic director Phoenix Repertory Players, and Bill Rhoten, the co-founder and artistic director of Theatre Rocks! Noelle has a knack for connecting with young people and has been directing youth in stage productions for the last 10 years. Noelle was trained as an actress at the historic Priscilla Beach Theatre of New England, on the same stage where actors like Paul Newman and Jean Seberg got their starts. For many years, Noelle traveled with PBT’s professional acting company.​ Bill has 40-plus years of diversified acting, directing, producing and writing experience, in over 80 stage productions in Ennis and the Dallas area. He has taught many actors, some of whom have gone on to win Pulitzer prizes and Tony awards, including a Tony for best actor.
