Watersprite Film Festival

Watersprite is only in its fifth year, but has already risen to prominence as an international student film festival. We recognize and promote rising talentfrom around the world, seeking a diversity of perspectives that reflects the increasingly globalized nature of the film industry. Encouraging your students to enter Watersprite would open
the door both to honors for UT and career advancement for your young filmmakers.

A student-run nonprofit, Watersprite has maintained core values of education and accessibility. In addition to the short film competition, the festival provides a weekend of talks and workshops with leading industry figures, offering student filmmakers a prime opportunity for insider guidance, professional growth, and networking.

Submission and entry to all festival events is free, and nominees receive travel bursaries to attend the festival. Past prizes for winners include production mentorships, a week¹s use of ARRI¹s Alexa camera, Final Draft and Spitfire Audio software, and a weeklong work experience with Aardman Animations.

Submissions are currently open. We welcome fiction, animation, and documentary films up to 20 minutes long. Submissions will close on November 24th. For more information, including instructions for submitting a film, visit our website at watersprite.org.uk.
