Casting Call for Scene from “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
Synopsis: A man, Joel Barish, heartbroken that his girlfriend Clementine underwent a procedure to erase him from her memory, decides to do the same. However, as he watches his memories of her fade away, he realizes that he still loves her, and it may be too late to correct his mistake.
Joel Barish (early 20s-late 30s): Male
Joel is a quiet, nervous and intelligent individual who is troubled and depressed. A self-employed cartoonist and graphic designer, he is an unshaven, conventional dresser, who worries about the meaning of life.
Clementine Kruczynski (early 20s-late 30s): Female
Clementine is a fascinating, outspoken young woman who works at Barnes & Noble and is Joel’s love interest. However, beneath her passionate speeches and risk-taking behavior, she is deeply insecure.
The project is unpaid but each actor will receive a DVD or miniDV copy provided of the final edited product.
Meals will be provided. The scene will be shot in Austin, TX in HD with a student run crew.
Audition Date: February 13th, 5-8pm
Location: UT Austin Campus, CMA 3.116
Commitment: 3-4 Rehearsals until Scene Exercise Presentation on March 4th
Filming Dates for scene: (specific dates to follow)
Project to be complete by March 25th
