Synopsis: Lullaby is a short film about Lily, a young single mother, whom upon learning she is dying sets out to reunite her estranged husband, Johnny, with their six-year-old son, Sean.
Inspired by actual events, Lullaby, is based on the feature length script also written by Theresa Bell, that was a finalist in the Project Greenlight Contest.
The purpose of making the short film is to showcase some of TBell’s studio actors as well and use it as a calling card for Bell’s writing and directing skills. And lastly, the company hopes to get potential investors excited about making the feature.
The film takes place in 1989 with a flashback to 1978.
Character Breakdowns:
LILY – Caucasian, pretty, 19 -29 yrs old. Single mom to six-year-old Sean. Lily is dying and thus, thin and frail. She is a mother lioness when it comes to her son but wears a quiet sadness knowing she won’t live long enough to raise him.
SEAN – Caucasian, 6 – 8 years old, dark hair preferred. Sean is bit precocious and the center of Lily’s universe. Must be a strong actor.
SID – Open ethnicity 35 – 45. Drinks hard and fights harder. The wife-beater next door. We hear him yelling at his wife but only see him when Johnny confronts him.
KIM – Open ethnicity, Pretty, 25 -35. Johnny’s current live-in girlfriend. Has a bit of an edge.
