On Wednesday June 10, 2015, THE NETWORK AUSTIN MIXER will feature Ingrid Edwards, CPA! The information Ingrid will provide can save you money… and everyone likes to save money, right? Whether one works as an independent contractor on a small project or is hired on a major production, there are funds that can be deducted from Uncle Sam’s cut of your income, and these are often overlooked. Let’s face it, if major corporations with teams of high-powered attorneys can take advantage of every possible deduction – and they certainly do – so should artists, which most of us in the media fields are!
Concerning taxes and deductions, Ingrid will discuss in detail and answer questions about:
1) Tax basics for actors and child actors
2) Hobby or real business?
3) What makes an Artist a professional?
4) Continuing education or training for a new profession?
5) Home office – good idea or not?
6) Apparel, hair and make-up, gym dues, manicure and pedicure, dry cleaning – which do count and which do not?
7) Travel and meals – how to sort this out?
8) Additional tax deductions (movie tickets, rentals, TV subscriptions, etc.)
As the principal of Ingrid Edwards CPA, PC, Ingrid brings 20 years of experience in public accounting, works with both individuals and businesses, has provided accounting and tax solutions to companies in a wide range of industries, and has conducted audits for companies ranging in size from 1 million to 150 million in annual revenues.
Prior to opening her own firm, Ingrid held senior positions with James E. Roberson& Co. in Austin, TX, and Eugene McRedmond and Co. in Danbury, Connecticut. She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia and a Business degree from Ecole Superieure De Commerce in Tours, France. She is a member of the American Institute of public Accounts and the Texas Society of CPAs. Needless to say, she is highly-experienced.
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to get FREE information about taxes, deductions, and more… or pay Uncle Sam money when you don’t need to! You do not want to miss this informative and fun-filled evening, so join us on Wed June 10 at Baby A’s network, meet like minds, have a cold margarita, some great food and get updated about how to save money.
We are extremely grateful to our April 8th and May 13th panels of Casting Directors for so graciously offering their time and insights, for addressing all questions during the Q&A sessions, and for staying around much longer than they needed to just to meet folks and offer even more information! Now that’s class, and we extend our deepest appreciation to all of them. THANK YOU, Sally Allen, Toni Cobb-Brock, Vicky Boone, Brad Burton, CSA, & Kimberly Burton, CSA from our April 8 Mixer, and Brenda Ambrize, Rachel Flanagan, Donise Hardy, CSA, and Beth Sepko, CSA, on our May 13 panel!
For those of you who missed our April 8th Mixer we wanted to share with you our “April Fool’s” surprise songs, starring Donise L. Hardy, Gary L. Wimmer, Kerry Ramsay, Kelly Dealyn, Amy Leonards and Gayla Gray, who took the Casting Directors and the attendees on an unexpected ride via Gary’s short song: Make Happen What You Dream About. Gary stumbles through the song… and more… but gets help. Performed Monday April 8, 2015 at Baby Acapulco’s in Austin, TX. SEE: http://youtu.be/03Zld-FzJk8
NOTICE: We all know traffic is horrendous, so… PLEASE CARPOOL and LEAVE IN TIME TO ARRIVE EARLY! If Baby Acapulco’s parking is full, you may park at the Super 8 motel (just south of Baby A’s) for $8. Be sure to pay the desk person at Super 8 Motel when you park there so your vehicle doesn’t get towed off and DO NO PARK IN FRONT OF DUMPSTERS!
