SYNOPSIS: Science Fiction. On Earth 200 years from now, the enlarged sun is killing the planet. The world has splintered off into two groups: one in the safety of caverns below ground, and those left to perish on the Surface. The protagonist must learn whether her subterranean civilization of “Chosen People” are worth dying for and if so, what sacrifices she is willing to make to save them from themselves.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
–Pajé (pa-ZJAY) – female, possible ages 40-70, haughty, a leader in her post-apocalyptic civilization, intelligent, slightly “mad scientist”
–Apsû (ap-SOO) – male, possible ages 20-40, warrior, physically fit, brother to female protagonist, well-loved and respected by all, homosexual (though his sexual orientation should not come off as a stereotype and heterosexual actors welcome to apply)
–Ea (AY-a) – male, possible ages 20-40, priest and government worker, position of power yet humble, homosexual (though his sexual orientation should not come off as a stereotype and heterosexual actors welcome to apply)
–The Priestess – female, possible ages 18-70, head practitioner of her civilization’s religion, must be fluent in Portuguese or willing to learn dialogue in the language
–Força (FORE-sah) or Acanto soldier – male/female, variety of ages, statures and cultural backgrounds, military-like warriors/protectors, must feel comfortable holding prop weapons, standing guard and possibly performing fight choreography, stunt/fight experience appreciated, but not a requirement
–Extras – All ages, cultural backgrounds, body shapes, experience. Non-speaking roles, though some people will have additional screen time. No audition necessary.
