Since Austin’s dearly loved community film organization Reel Women closed its doors during the summer of 2011, the Austin’s women in cinema have felt a void. For the past decade, Executive Director Sherry Mills has been devoted to Reel Women and the community it served. We will miss her and her generous leadership in the community. Alas, you can still find Sherry on her new radio show, I’m Ready for My Close-up with Sherry Mills on KOOP Austin, Mondays at 1:00pm. It’s a great show!
Although Reel Women can never be replaced, Austin Film Meet feels the void left by the closing of this woman-focused media group. After being approached by numerous ladies regarding their desire to meet other women in film, television and media, the need has clearly been established. But we still want to know what types of events you want?
So ladies, we need your help. If you are a female and you have an interest in the film, video or media industry, please complete our survey below and tell us what you want. Thanks!
THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.
Thank you for your feedback!
Make sure you sign up for The Apple Box, AFM’s e-newsletter, for notices about upcoming women-focused events.
